Core Values

1. God Centeredness - a high priority will be placed upon the vertical focus so that God is glorified through each aspect of our worship and ministry. This is accomplished through a consistent focus on the Supremacy and Centrality of Jesus Christ in our daily lives and ministry.

2. Bible Based and Bible Saturated - the Word of God will be our source for all preaching and teaching. This does not mean that other curriculum may not be used, but simply that the Bible should be read, quoted, referred to, and appealed to as the ultimate foundation and final authority for everything that is taught.

3. Believer’s Relationships - we will do our part to encourage every Christian to grow in three basic relationships. These relationships are:

  1. GOD - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
  2. FELLOW BELIEVERS - the Church
  3. UNBELIEVERS - the world

4. Authentic Communication - our preaching, teaching, advertising, and church business will be free from gimmicks, manipulation, and hypocrisy. Instead we will communicate the truth from sincere hearts.

5. Undistracting Excellence - we will try to sing, pray, preach, and run ministry programs in a way that avoids distraction either in the form of sloppy, ill equipped ministry, or that of excessive refinement and polish. We do not want our style or “performance’ to distract from the ministry. We will seek to fulfill our ministries in a way worthy of the God we serve.

6. Directed by the Holy Spirit - focused, yet open freedom in our ministry and in our worship. We recognize and encourage different forms of expression - raising hands, clapping, etc without being forced or expected.

7. Contemporary in Worship - we will attempt to use choruses and hymns which connect with life and are Biblical in background. We will use piano, keyboards, guitar, bass guitar, drums, etc. to make our worship fresh and relevant while avoiding a style of worship that is wild and obnoxious.

8. Operate according to calling and giftedness - we will not begin a new ministry until we have a person who is called and gifted to do it. We will avoid pushing people into ministries in which they are not gifted.

9. Family Oriented - in a world that wears on the family, we will seek to be a refuge and source of strength. We will protect our church leaders from excessive pressures to be separated from families to do church work. We will also regularly strengthen the family through family teaching and events oriented toward building family strength and closeness.

10. Kingdom Oriented - we will be a “Great Commission” church. We will emphasize evangelism and discipleship in our local church. We will seek to plant Christ-honoring churches in our surrounding area. We will support world missions through giving, praying, and sending.
